Merger Fever is Spreading in Legal Biz -- legal business, law firms
Merger fever is spreading in the legal business. Firms are hooking up, or at least flirting with each other, at a level not seen in a while.
 “Coming out of the recession, quite a few firms have shifted from survival mode and are dusting off their strategic plans to grow,” said Ward Bower, a principal at Altman Weil Inc. “There is more interest now [among firms] in merging than at any time in the past 10 to 20 years,” said Kent Zimmermann, a consultant with Zeughauser Group. Need proof? Litigation firms McKool Smith in Dallas and Hennigan Dorman in Los Angeles are merging, effective Sept. 12, WSJ reports. More... |
