Two Supreme Court rulings, from 2007 and 2009, have helped Wall Street banks turn away investor suits arising from the recent market meltdown.
Corporate America, conversely, has reason to be happy, according to the report from Bloomberg, which concludes that Twombly/Iqbal have helped companies fight investor claims arising from the recent market meltdown. Judges have cited the 2007 Twombly ruling, Bloomberg reports, in dismissing suits against Citigroup Inc. and Merrill Lynch over the sale of auction-rate securities. More... |
