Default Ohio law: $150 fine for not turning on lights whenever windshield wipers are needed

Is it snowing? Turn on the car lights. The new year will bring several new state laws including a maximum $150 fine for not turning on lights whenever windshield wipers are needed. Ohio is the 17th state to adopt the lights-during-precipitation law. Violators have received warnings since July 1, when the law took effect, but fines start Friday.

There comes a point when the idiocy of some humans endangers others so much that government intervention is warranted. Cell phones and texting are in the same category. If you don't like this law, you are probably one of the Neaderthals who drives a dark car with tinted windows in the rain, at dusk and at dawn and declare it's no problem because, "I can see."
