Working for the Weekend: The Lawyers on the Citi Bailout
 The buzz in these parts this morning is all about Citigroup, the latest beneficiary of government largesse. The financial-services behemoth, whose stock last week fell off a cliff, last night reached a deal with government officials whereby the government would absorb potentially hundreds of billions in losses on toxic assets. Repping Citi: a team lawyers from Davis Polk & Wardwell that included Gar Bason, Randall Guynn, Louis Goldberg and Avishai Shachar. Repping the New York Fed: a team from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton that included partners Mark Walker, Ray Check and Kimberly Blacklow, and counsel Sandra Rocks. |
