Default Web Site Features Firm Satire; Dunder Mifflin, Meet Sullivan & Moore

We would never close out a Friday with a post about the PCAOB. Fridays should be fun, and to that end we bring you a series of Webisodes from Bitter Lawyer.

“Living the Dream” is a series of four hilariously satirical vignettes about life in a law firm. (I’m told that five more are forthcoming.) For fans of “The Office,” all you need to know is that the character of Nick Conley, the newest associate at Sullivan & Moore — “the most prestigious law firm in the entire country” — gives John Krasinski’s Jim Halpert a run for his money.

The series was created by Rick Eid, a former Skadden Arps associate and Manatt Phelps partner who chucked lawyering about ten years ago and found his way into television writing. His first staff gig was writing for a 2000 FOX show called “The Street,” starring Jennifer Connelly. More recently, Eid created “Conviction,” a Dick Wolf-backed show about young prosecutors in New York. (While still a law firm associate, the Law Blog reviewed “Conviction” in 2006.)

In the third Webisode, Eid makes a cameo as a partner who congratulates Nick on catching a typo in a merger document and invites him to a basketball game.
