liability from ponds
I have two vacant rentals that are on some acreage near small ponds. The ponds are man made.
While the setting is beautiful, I am worried about liability from the ponds. I will fence the yards before I rent them out with no gate to access the ponds but should I fence off the ponds themselves completely? If so, should I use a tall security fence instead of a regular yard fence? |

This would be a good question for your insurance agent. Check with him to see what would make you the least liable. Then while you are talking to him, ask him about a large (at least $1 million) liability umbrella policy to cover yourself. Keep in mind that you will not be able to exclude small children from the rentals just because you are worried about your liability.
