i am getting ready to rent a house, it has an alarm system IF the tenant wants to pay for monitoring, do I (landlord) have any rights to their pass word/ code. according to the security provider *once someone has a "pass word", they can change anything on the account* *and they NEED one (pass word) for it to operate properly (and rightfully so, they are paying for it), but how do i insure that "I" will always have that "pass word", so that i don't get locked out, or set it off and have to explain this to the police. can i "add" an additional "TERM" to the agreement, or do i need to have a lawyer do it. THANKS |

Yes you can add that to the agreement; the alarm company will also sometimes have a system that allows you master access (and the tenant knows and understands that)--so check with them too.
