I'm renting a house in California. The initial lease was a 1 year lease. I've been in the house for 2 years after that on a month to month basis. A year or two ago, the leasing agent who helps my landlord brought me a lease and he claimed the law had changed in Jan 2007 that I now had to given 2 months notice since I had been living in the property longer than 2 years, if I were to leave.
I recently read that the law actually is that the landlord has to give ME two years and I only have to give 30 days. Here is the only link I've found so far with any help: http://www.dca.ca.gov/publications/l...ving-out.shtml Any advice? Does that mean the clause in my lease is illegal? I can give a 30 day notice? |

He gives you 2 months notice, you give 30 days notice unless that new laws says different.
