Confused Privacy and Security violated

Hi,

I am a senior at a state university in Pennsylvania. Where I live, off campus, my landlord is a lawyer so I really need some good advice. In the lease it states "the landlord and or agents of the landlord may at any and all times during the term of the lease enter the leasehold premises for the purpose of inspection and or repair, and for purposes of exhibiting the leasehold premises to prospective tenants, upon prior notice to the tenants. The problem is the apt manager is bringing people through my house at least 3 times per week and many times when were not home. She gives me a 24 hr notice but then says that this notice is for the next 3 days and she gives no definite time frame. So when I get out of the shower in a towel shes here, also these prospective tenants (2) at a time are unmonitored and could possibly be thieving items from my house. There is also a possibility of a home invasion from people just trying to get in and see what items I have (many valuable ones including a 42" plasma). I have also been involved with a home invasion in the past, what are my rights?!

They need to do that reasonably and should not enter until you let them if you there. They must be with any person at all times.

For how long is this going on and why?

The semester had started on August 28 2007 and the lease is terminated on may 10 2008. I don't know why they are letting people view the apt so soon but most of these people they bring in definitely can't afford the place and it makes me nervous. So do you think I have a legitimate argument to bring up with my landlord?

Send the LL a letter stating that you need a definite date and time when they will be showing the unit to prospective tenants. (In college communities it is common to sign a lease for the next school year months in advance.) Also, mention the concerns you have of theft issues and possible home invasions and request that all viewers be accompanied through the property to prevent this from happening. Send this to the LL by certified mail, return receipt requested. Keep a copy for yourself.
