Default Eviction on my record that shoudn't be there

I lived in a trailer park with my mother back in 1999 to 2000. A friend of mine lived in the same trailer park. I would sometimes go over to her house to get away from my mother for a couple of days. I was not living in my friend's house. I was not even listed on her lease. However, I just found out on 09/28/07 that when my friend was evicted, the trailer park listed the eviction under my name. This happened in Fort Worth, Texas. Do I have any kind of legal recourse? I am now living in Oklahoma and am trying to get into low-income housing. The eviction is preventing me from being able to obtain the housing that I desperately need.

Most LLs have clauses in their leases that state that anyone staying more than a certain number of days in a unit without prior written approval is considered an unauthorized occupant. When the LL evicts the tenant, he also evicts all unauthorized occupants. How many days did you stay at this residence? A couple of days at a time, for just 3 or 4 times, would put you over most lease limits. Most agreements allow only about 7 - 10 days per year. More than than, and you are listed as living there. You do not have to be listed on a lease to be evicted from the place. You only have to had stayed there more than the listed amount of time. You can contact the court if you feel this is in error, but if you stayed there often, it probably will stay on your record. You may want to contact the HA and explain that you only stayed there occasionally, and the LL listed you incorrectly.
