Angry bad plumbing and rent

I have rented a house from these two individuals and ever since the first day the plumbing has backed up and flooded the house numerous times and has never worked. Getting the smell of sewage out of the carpet has been a pain and having to go "somewhere else" to use the restroom is getting old after 4 months of half assed repairs (when they feel like it). I want my money back and I'm moving so can I can get this rent that I have put in?

First off, are you under a lease? If so, you have gone about getting those repairs the wrong way. You need to make witten requests for repairs and send them certified mail, return receipt requested, and keep a copy. You need to do this to prove the LL refused to make the repairs correctly. If you move out, breaking the lease, without this proof, you may be held liable for the rent until re-rented plus other costs. You also could have called the health department or the city building inspector to force the LL to make the repairs. I suggest you do this prior to moving out so you have some proof of his failure to repair. If you are under a m2m agreement, you can just give proper notice and move. Either way, make sure you give proper written notice to move out before you do to protect yourself.

You will be unable to get any rent money back. You lived there for that period and used the unit. You should have made these requests as stated above when the problem first started. You would not have had to put up with this problem any longer than a couple weeks that way.
