Messy situation - Screwed?
A friend signed a 1 year lease for an apartment in Connecticut. Her name, her sister's name and the boyfriend is on the lease. Halfway through the year, she broke up with the boyfriend and took a job in New Jersey. The boy said he would stay there and finish the term of the lease, but skipped out of town the last two months.
Landlord changed the locks, etc. and wants to collect some money, but also rented out their place and seems to want her to pick up the stuff, but won't let her until she pays the due rent (she is unable to do so at this time). What is the best possible course of action for her in this situation? |

She could sue him in small claims or ask the police to escort her
he cannot lock her out till he evicts them if they were actual tenants |
