My problem is that I live in Clearwater, Florida in a residence where the previous landlord resides as well. He went through a foreclosure and the townhouse association has won a settlement from him for $11,000. His mortgage has not been paid by him for over five years as well. The property changed ownership on December 20,2010. I have a lease with him which is now being honored by the association and their lawyer and is valid until October. I have been paying rent to him for the past six months which he used for personal things not to pay his mortgage. The problem is that he is now refusing to pay any type of rent and is stealing the rent from the other tenants in the townhouse for his own use rather than having it go to me to pay rent for the townhouse. Now that the rent payment goes to the association I guess he feels that he doesn't need to pay because he hasn't for so long. I have been told that he has no legal right to be here other than being my guest. He has no lease with me for him to stay here or a lease with anyone else for that matter. My question is how do I get him out can I just call the police and lock him out- this is what the townhouse association is telling me to do- or do I have to file for an eviction. This guy is an evil genius and he knows every law pertaining to his rights to stay in the house.

What is your relationship? Are you romantically involved? If so, get a protection from abuse order put on him and get him out of your residence. Sometimes, with some men, the only way to get them to move off their stupid, stubborn, lazy asses is to be a little creative and devious like they are. **** him if he doesn't like it. He's obviously a lying, irresponsible, deceitful poor excuse for a human being.
