I'm not a lawyer...but I'd suggest just doing the chores, or move somewhere else. I'd imagine you don't pay much rent, might as well do chores to make it fair. Or pay more in rent.
Sounds like you're just being unreasonable. |

They can't kick you out without utilizing the courts. But don't underestimate them. They just might get a court order to evict you if you're being a pig and messing up their living space and refusing to pick up after yourself. |

You sound ungrateful. If you rented a house, you'd likely be doing yard work too. Your parents asking you for help with errands after your workday, well, they probably need your help. If you're unhappy, move, and go ahead and be all smug about having a free month of rent while they go through the process of evicting you--that speaks to your character. I'm guessing you are very young. Just saying.

You just got out of jail? You should be grateful your parents allowed you back into their home if you're a criminal. You sound like a spoiled little brat. "Chores" are going to follow you throughout your life. When you live on your own, you do "chores" or your surroundings fall to ruin. You'd have to do these "chores" if you lived on your own. So what if you're their (not there) kid? If you're 18 or older, you are an adult. That means your parents are giving you a taste of the outside world and all of the "chores" that go along with it. You won't get out of paying the rent for the month they evict you. You thinking otherwise shows how little you know about life and the real world. You will still be ordered to pay any back rent you owe. I wonder if you pay any utilities in addition to the $450.00 rent. Elsewhere, you will be responsible for all utilities. I work my a s s off and then come home and have to work some more by doing "chores" so that my house is maintained. When it snows, I have to shovel. When it's summer, I have to cut the grass. I have to clean my house and run and do errands. It's called being an adult and living in the real world. Better get used to it kiddo. It's not going to go away. I'm sure a lot of others on this forum will agree that working does not absolve a person from having to do "chores". Your parents can bring eviction against you for any or no reason. |

I agree. It sounds to me like your parents are trying to teach you what they failed to teach you earlier in life; structure. It purely speaks to your immaturity that you even have a problem with helping out around the house that you help dirty up. Awww poor baby you work all day and don't think it's "fair" (I can hear you whining) that you should "have to do chores". I don't think it's fair I have to do chores after a long day's work either but guess what? If I don't do them they won't get done.
Maybe your parents are a little bit older now and don't feel good enough to mow the lawn. Maybe they think it's only fair you help out since you live in their home freely and aren't confined to only a certain area of it. Stop being such a whiny baby and grow to hell up! |

So noone even attempted to answered this mans question?.. You each just, decided to let him know how YOU felt. Hmmm... sounds a bit hypocritical if you ask me. Insulting the mans maturity level really shows your own.
They CAN evict you from their home though. If this has been your residence they will have to file a motion with the courts. This could take anywhere from a month to a year depending. And unless you are on the lease, they DO NOT need a legitimate reason to evict you. I suggest finding your own residence, but in the mean time.. do whatever you can to keep the situation calm. You do not want to leave on bad terms. You may just need their assistance at some point in the future. Good luck. |
