Confused Security Deposit In Texas

Bare with me it may be a little long. I am a landlord and the tenants are demanding their security deposit be given back. I am holding deposit because they did not fulfill the full 1 year agreement and did not give a full 30 days notice. They sent me a letter stating that this had to be printed in bold or underlined text in the lease agreement. Is this correct? Please HELP!!!

Thanks in advance

You normally are allowed to withhold if they damage items or break the lease.

Your local chamber of commmerce or landlord tenant court could confirm

Exclamation Re: Security Deposit In Texas

Thanks for all the views. I recently checked with attorneys regarding thismatter and as it turns out that is a property code here. And Unfortunately in my lease it's not in bold or underlined. Just another reason why it seems the laws are written for the tennants and not at all for the landlords. I have since settled with these people outside of court. Pass the word around regarding this. You can look this property code up under findlaw.com and it's sec 92.103 in Texas. Hmmm... Wish things could change.

Thanks Again

You can sue them in small claims of course regardless of what you do with the deposit.
