Landlord's fake alligation on us !

We rented a villa in sharjah Mansoora Area. from an Arab (Local) landlord... we lived there for 3yrs.
Paying in one cheque for the whole year.
The landlord never spoke with respect, (we assumed it was very ill mannered of his family)
We didn't have to keep any contact with him except for the time when he came to collect the cheque. (His usual style was to PUSH the door and enter inside the house YELLING & CALLING out our names) we took it as a their lack of etiquettes and tolerated this behaviour.
Sometimes the mother came just to SEE and LOOK at the house from inside for no reason..
and sometimes the son (the actual LANDLORD) himself.
BOTH having the same attitude.
They rarely spoke in English (even thou the son knew how to speak in English, but he was always talking to us in Arabic, knowing and we hardly understand Arabic it was their way of NOT allowing us to speak in front of them.. they talked to us like we were their slaves!

The house was 15 yrs old (as per what was told to us) and needed quite a maintenance.
The walls getting cracks..
The ceiling/roof getting stained.
The main gate getting rusted
The taps and commodes issues. (toilet)
The water heaters not working gain and again
The split ACs stopped working again and again
(everything was old and needed to be changed)

Biggest issue was the electricity and water bill in that house, which started coming like 2500dhs or more.. thou we used electricity & water very carefully because of large bills, but the meter was always charging us!
we called an inspector from SEWA and he told us "perhaps there is some underground leakage of water somewhere"
& fixing that was a major major work, which obviously the landlord should take care of.

Then we tried to contact the landlord on the given phone number.. and again and again he did not answer our calls, and then he pretended to behave as if he can not understand what we are saying or talking about.. and banged the phone on us...!

Then we requested our Arab friend to speak to HIM on behalf of us in Arabic, and explain to him that "the house needs some repairing, as we are suffering everyday because of it with small children in the house"

When our friend spoke to HIS MOTHER she abused him in Arabic with filthy language and said DONT CALL US YOU SON OF A BITHCH.
then WE immediately telephoned her SON and he did the SAME THING to us.. and scolded us to not to call them ever again.

THAT was the LAST time we called them..
we repaired the toilet taps and commodes just for our use.
And started looking for another house for us, and in next 20 days we found another place.
We telephoned them to inform that we will not be renewing the contract next month, but as always he was NOT picking calls from us. then we smsed him that WE ARE VACATING THEIR VILLA

There was NO response from both of them..
almost after 3 weeks he entered out house shouting and screaming that "WHY U DIDN|T INFORM ME BEFORE?"
We tried to tell him that "we tried to call u and to your mother both, but u were not taking out calls so we smsed u.. what else cud we do? we had no idea where he worked or lived?
He refused that he didn't get any sms.. and that we are lieing to him.

Fiinally we emptied the house in 20 days... gave him the keys.. the house in just the condition we found in.. paid all the bills.. and left peacefully.

We had given the security deposit of 5000 dhs, and he NEVER returned it back to us.
We never even hoped that he would.,, and we did not want to speak to him about it at all.. because we did not want to be abused once again with his dirty language.

NOW we living in our new apartment peacefully and when I am travelling to my country today I am stopped at the immigration and I am told that I have a CASE on ME.. filed by the landlord for DAMAGING his property?
and the amount is 27000 Dhs for it?
I ask is there anything called GOD FEAR in this world?
Is there any LAW which can save me from this DEVIL ACT of this person..?

You should call the court that handles civil damages on rental property (the court the landlord filed that case). Ask for details about the case. If the case has already been heard, you should ask how to file to vacate the judgment against you (for those damages) based on improper service or lack of service (since you were not notified about the case).

If the case has not yet been heard, ask how you file a counter suit to his case (to seek your deposit back). File a counter claim suit to his case. Get all of your documentation together - all records of your calls to him, dates you attempted to notify him, proof that the place was in good order when you returned it, etc. Go to court and present your case. Do not miss that court date or you will lose by default.
