Eviction
I recently tried to rent an apartment and they said I had an eviction on my record from a previous address I lived at, therefore, they wouldnt rent to me. The address was the house I lived in with my now ex-wife. This eviction took place when I did not live there at the address due to a restraining order. My ex-wife did live there and obviously did not pay the rent and therefore got evicted without me knowing about it. I sent a copy of the restraining order (restraining me from the property in the eviction) to the landlord and asked him to take me off of the lease. A year later, it seems he didnt and he included me in the eviction. Is there any thing I can do to get that eviction off of my record being that I was restrained from being on that property and asked to be taken off the lease? Or, am I still obligated to pay the lease/eviction? If I am still obligated, how do I get it taken off my record so I can rent again?

You can write the credit agencies and explain, and/or sue the landlord in small claims or other court for damages for false info etc.
