who gets the rent

the house i am in is being sold but vas of today noone has come fro my rent the new pebnwer says its his the old says its thiers cus papaers arent done

If the closing has not occurred and the new title has not been recorded (call the count recorder's office and ask), the house still belongs to the old owner. The rent would go to the old owner of the house. Get a receipt for the rent!! You may need to show this to the new LL if he demands it.

If the new owner cannot show you the closing papers and new deed/title, he will have to pursue the old owner for any rent he deems belongs to him. Without those, anyone could come up to you and state that "they now own the house and the rent goes to them". Without documentation of such, you pay the old LL.

Let the two owners work out any pro-rated rent that belongs to them. But you pay rent on time.
