I have a medical marijuana license from Health Canada to grow and possess cannibas.
Im moving into an apartment and my landlord does not know I will be growing 6 cannabis plants.
Can I get convicted or evicted from my place if he does not approve of me growing ?

You better ask the LL what the drug policy is there. Some leases and complexes have a zero tolerance policy on this. Just like smoking, the LL can refuse to allow this.

This should DEFINITELY be something you should disclose up front. It is only going to cause you problems in the future when and if the LL finds out.

It is non of the landlords business what legal things you do in your home. To advertise that you are growing it will eventually bring problems such as breakins etc. As far as a non smoking policy, you can simply buy a vaporizer.

While it may be legal for the user since he has a license, if he fails to disclose this, the LL will NOT KNOW it is a legal activity. The LL and other tenants will ASSUME this is an ILLEGAL activity. This can result in calls to police, nuisance reports filed against him, filings to evict, and other unnecessary activities that can be troublesome and detrimental to the tenant. By disclosing this information (to the LL only), the tenant can avoid all these unwanted actions that will disturb him. The LL would know that the use is legal and prescribed, and will ensure that no action is taken against the tenant for this legal activity.

If the tenant fails to disclose, he bears the brunt of all unwanted actions since he failed to inform.

HELLth Canada has a form that must be filled out by the renter and signed by the landlord, giving the tenant permission to grow on the premises he owns. Very few landlords will actually do this, since they would then risk their insurance. Good luck.
