HI (Florida)
I signed 1 year lease in Florida. After few weeks, I realized house and yard was infested with ticks. My dog became infested with ticks. I have incurred numerous vet bills and pest treatments to eliminate ticks. One tick has bitten my infant and another crawled on my older of 3 young sons. The pest company guaranteed me in 2 treatments that ticks were going to be eliminated. I have ongoing problem. Now I need to do 3rd treatment. Can I get out of lease and how? Are there any FL laws pertaining to infestations? Can tick infestation be considered health hazard to my children? |

No you are bound by terms of lease. If you wan tout that bad you can talk to Landlord and early release from lease. Expect this to cost you some money!

I agree. The LL is not responsible for outside insects. Spray the yard. Put a flea and tick collar on the dog. Ticks are native insects and aren't due to any negligence of the LL. They may be a health hazard, but they are your responsibility.
