Confused Water leak found from Washer tap Since moved in 20 days ago.

Hi. This is Nick in Martinez. CA
I moved in new townhouse about 20days ago and found water leak from a tap going to washer. It goes down stair and got water stain and paint rose on the celing of 1st floor.

How should I work for it with my Landlord to solve this problem?
It would be my responsibility? or Landlord?
How can I deal with this?

I need your help~

It is the landlord's responsibility unless you somehow caused the leak by damaging something.

Otherwise he normally needs to resolve (or unless your lease says something else)--

A water leak from the washer tap? Was this from the tap itself, or your leaky washer hose? If the tap itself, the LL is responsible for this. If from a washer hose, you are. How to tell? Turn off the tap and unscrew the hose. If still leaking, its your LL's problem. If not, it's yours.
