Default compensation for loss of business

I am the proprietor of a bar but I am leasing the building.
What legal rights do I have against my landlord for loss of business due to a badly leaking roof?
Can I withhold my rent payment?

Default Re: compensation for loss of business

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against him (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages you have incurred. Normally you don't get lost profits but you can make emergency repairs and sue him for costs.
