I live in an apt. complex in the St. Louis MO. area. I recently signed a lease. My lease began 6/26. The landlord and I did an entry inspection. The apartment was not ready on the 26th. I would like to know if it is possible for me to get out of the lease.
Thank you, Andi |

What does the lease say? If it says you can cancel, you can. But chances are there is a clause that says they will prorate the rent until the unit is ready of not ready by lease date. If so, you can't cancel. You agreed to prorate.
How long will it take until the place is ready? If only a few days, ask them to put you up somewhere until it is. |
