Small Claims Forms
When filing small claims paperwork (California), do I list just the amount the landlord improperly deducted from my security deposit? Or do I list this and damages I am asking for as well?

Although I am not familiar with CA paperwork per se, it is normal to list any and all amounts you wish to recover from the person, although mark them separately in the body of the work (ie- $500 rent and $xxx in penalties for bad faith withholding). You may want to call the clerk of court and ask how you should fill out the paperwork to make sure it is correct.
As I mentioned in your other post, please list the deductions and the length of time in the unit so we can help you with the case. |
