Confused harrassment

We recently (30 days ago) moved into a new house (renting). As we were in the process of moving in, my wife and oldest daughter were repainting a room, a neighbor walked into the house without knocking and began threatening my wife with police action if we started having parties or were loud ( we don\'t drink, she (neighbor) drinks daily). This frightened my family considerably. We even considered trying to get out of our lease. Within a week of completely moving in. She began to confront us about how she believes that the entire driveway is her property. She commissioned a surveyor to check the property line. And she told the landlord that we only had access to 2 feet of driveway. The landlord had the same surveyor come out and do another survey that proved her statements were false. She (neighbor) had an old car parked under a carport on our property, that the landlord had allowed her to keep there. When the landlord found out what she was doing. A letter was delivered to !
her telling the neighbor to remove any and all property from the premises. The neighbor then painted a dotted line down the driveway and placed a string down the line also. Today as I was returning from the store, she accosted me from her porch and told me we were not allowed to cross that line in any way. Even to walk over it to gain access to our cars or she would prosecute us for trespassing. This ongoing situation is causing considerable anxiety and stress for my family. My wife has been to the emergency room and local clinic twice in the last two days for severe migraines that her doctors said is probably caused by stress. Is this harassment as defined by the law.

Default Re: harrassment

Why are you dealing with this neighbor? Start calling the police each time she starts up. Ignore the line and drive right over the string. Let her take you to court. (Likely, it's just hot air!) If she complains again, tell her to take it up with the owner (LL) not you as you are only following what you have to do per the lease. You don't own the property and she needs to talk to the property owner about any disputes, not you. Then walk away and ignore her. Let the LL know what she is doing and that he needs to handle this immediately as she is violating your right to peaceful enjoyment of your premises and is a nuisance. Continue to call the police and report it to the owner promptly each time she starts. Don't let a nutty neighbor stress you out. Ignore her. The LL can send a cease and desist letter to her and provide a copy of the survey.
