FLORIDA MOBILE HOME PARK THREAT TO MOVE UNIT??
What is Florida law for a mobile home park/campground regarding removal of a mobile home that I own? I have had a"Snow Bird" agreement for 8 months of storage at a flat rate and only 4 months of full rent, which includes power and water. My credit card has been on file with the park to charge for the agreed amounts for the past 4 years. I seldom used the 4 months of occupancy and only have had a friend check on the place from time to time as I live in the North East. I am told that a few months ago, the manager died and a new management team took over. I have just been informed that their records show that NO payments have been made since 2005 on my account. No one has ever contacted me either by phone or mail to inform/discuss this with me until now!! On visits there, I have spoken with the former manager and nothing was ever mentioned to me regarding a payment problem?? All of my personal financial records have been in storage for over 2 years, and I would not know where to look for them in all of the boxes. I am told that I must pay IMMEDIATELY over $10,000 or they will remove my mobile home from their property!! This has come from the manager of the property, not anything from an attorney or law enforcement agency. What is the law and time line for due process?? PLEASE... HELP, HELP, HELP!!!

Contact the mobile home park owner and calmly assure him that rent has been paid each month by credit card. Let him know that there is obviously some accounting mix up with the old management company. Get his fax number to send him the copies of the transactions. Then call your credit card company. Explain that they want to charge you again for the last 3 years and request a printout of your account charges to that company. Then afx it to the new management company.
