Confused Tenants Are Evading Service. What next?

Well, tenant is not cooporating...lol. I hired the Sheriff Divison to serve the Unlawful Detainer. They made 7 attempts. I was told they spoke with one of the tenants and, the tenant had agreed to meet with the server. But when it came time, no show. Whats is the next step? They have been living in the home for 6 months without paying rents...

Thanks for any advise,
Sandra

Call an eviction attorney in your area. Some areas allow for another form of service than personal service. Some areas allow it to be tacked to the door if service cannot be accomplished, some allow for certified mail delivery (refusal is proof of the attempt), and some even allow for service by publication in the local paper. Call and ask about methods of alternate service. The one drawback to these methods is that you can get only the eviction, but not usually a montary judgement by these.
