Today a code compliance guy came and gave my landlord a 30 day written notice to repair the dammages. Over 2 months we had some rain leaks and they caused mold/mildew in our infants room as well as other parts of the apt. Also yesterday i noticed that we had a plant growing out of our ceiling into the bedroom that looks like it might be poisinous. Now that our landlords recieved that notice they gave us 3 days to move out on the excuse that we got out power shut of because we felt it wasn't safe for myself being pregnant or my daughter to stay there.

What does having an infant daughter or being pregnant have to do with getting your power shut off? How is the unit safer without power? If your lease says you are to keep these utilities on, or current, and you didn't; there is nothing we can do. You violated your lease.
If your power was not shut off, if you are not delinquent on your bill, then it could be considered LL retaliation. Read the retaliation statute for your state or country and see how it addresses your situation. |
