Angry ex fiance is a bum

we live in new jersey, both of our names are on the lease which expires feb 1st. he is moving out in november. isn't he liable to pay his share of the rent?

If the LL doesn't release him from the lease (and you agree to it), he is still liable for the rent and any other lease terms. You can sue him in small claims court for his share.
