I need help understanding my rights and any advice on getting my security deposit back. The landlord has deducted $1050.00. The only items identified and agreed during the walkthrough while moving out were crayon marks on the walls and kitchen cabinets.
He is charging me for things I am not aware of and certain things that were an issue when I had moved into the apartment such as broken oven glass which I had notified him of. Any help will be appreciated. |

Was the broken glass written on your move in inspection sheet? Did you notify him of it in writing? Did you take pictures at move in? If not, how can you prove it was broken when you moved in? He's going to claim it wasn't. Get everything in writing to protect yourself.
