Terminate lease before move in
My fiance signed a lease on an apartment and has only paid the retainer and nothing else. They gave her two months free rent. She has not moved in yet and not received keys or anything else from the apartment.
She is unable to afford the apartment due to now being in between jobs. since she hasnt moved in yet what are her options? her lease does not become affective until Jan 1 |

She can cancel and they have to re-rent, but they can hold her liable for costs of re-renting etc.
