Default landlord issues cont'd...

Ok, now the landlord came here and "cobb-jobbed" some of the necessary repairs. When I stated that it would be better to clean the mold before just painting over it he stated to me that "I am too picky, and that perhaps it would be for the best that I look for alternate living arrangements". Does that mean he's released me from my lease?? He said I should leave because I am basically annoying, so can I now vacate the lease legally?? PLEASE HELP

NO, that verbal release is not enough to allow you out of your obligations! But you can negotiate a release if you like. Ask the LL to give you a letter that states you will be released from all further obligations under your lease, providing that you give written 30 days notice of intent to vacate, and leave the place in the same condition as you took possession. Send the 30 day notice to him by certified mail, return receipt requested, and keep a copy and the postcard again. Or type up a letter yourself with the above information and present it to the LL, stating that you would like to take him up on his offer to let you love out.

But do not move out without one, or without following the information I gave in your other post. He would still be able to hold you to the obligations under your lease without a signed release.
