I have lived in my apt for a year now. My building was sold to a new landlord and I signed a new lease stating I would stay 1 year or at least give 2 months notice. For the last 4 months I have lived with the fact that my neighbours are drug dealers. From time to time my wife actually has been confronted by them in the hallway. I fear for my wife and daughter and our general well being. I am going to attempt to give my landlord 30 days notice and request that he apply the last months rent. Do I have any legal stand point to validate my situation or am I forced to plea bargain with the landlord?

If a landlord has violated important terms related to health, safety, or necessary repairs, you might have a legal right to break your lease.

Save all evidence and have records, photos and witnesses in case they try to go to small claims court.
