fedral wages held and retirement.
I worked for a construction firm for 3 years that I did some fedral/state work for that I (and 12 others) was mis-represented as a general labor instead of finisher and foreman. The pay for State/Fedral work at mason work is $32.60 per hour minus $4.00 hour that goes into a state retirement account. I was paid 23.60 an hour minus 4.00 hr to state retirement fund. Not only was I misrepresented as job title and qualaficatoins. But found out they would have had to fill out a special State/Fedral form to be signed by the foreman onsite(myself). That explained that myself and the workers were not qualified masons. I never saw this document and two everyone was by fedrall disciption a mason. I knew somthing was up when the president of the company was onsite and asked me to put everyone at 8 hrs. when we were on our 11th hour for that day. He told me the state does not allow overtime hours. I was insulted by how stupid he though I was. But he did know I had a family of 6 to feed. But I still I replied no, I would not only put down 8 hours for the men onsite for the day. He just replied back, he would have the office take care of it.
Also The State retirement account monies were never placed toward my retirement. 30 hours total. I refused to work that site anymore. some men had 200plus hours on this job. I was also given $460.00 after 6 months of work to be put towards my retirement that would be matched $460.00 by the company. I got the $460.00, inwich I was sent a letter from john han**** the trusties for the company. There was my $460.00 under my first name spelt wrong and my date of birth wrong and also my social security number. I have gone into the office sevral times always being told it is or already has been taken care of. I will get another letter from john han**** and it all remains the same. My brother-in-law is the vice president and I have ask him for months to see if can take care of this and he seems to just tell me what I want to hear, becuase it still remains $460.00 well 485.13 with investment returns. and still un matched by the company. It should total $920.00. Plus the over a year in personal return investment intrest. what is the next step I can take againts this bully tactics by this company? |

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office.
