I work for an agency that provides services to psyically/ and or mentally disabled people. The agency often askes employees to be a " roomate" with the client. many of these clients are so disabled that the need 24 hr supervision. In addition to this they have the employee pay a portion of the rent. The employee has no rights as a renter but pays rent.
In another home the employee asked to be relieved from her job because the client had issues with the staff that continued to be unresolved for four months. They told the staff that they had no one to relieve her and if she left she would be written up for leaving her client unattended. Do either of these conditions constitute involuntary servitute? |

Well not exactly but if you disagree with the terms and assignment you may just want to consider quitting...
