Can My Former Employer Sue Me?
I worked at a coffeehouse in Kentucky and my boss who was the owner as well wasn't paying me or any of the other employees. She and her husband went out of town this weekend and she didn't schedual us so that all of the store hours were covered. This was the last straw, we all quit this weekend. Now she is back and she is furious, she's been calling my house all night threatening to have me arrested if I don't get her key back to her by 7am, but I can't because I already mailed it certified mail. In addition she says she can sue us for loss of revenue because we quit and the store was closed while she was gone. I'm worried that I may get arrested tomorrow, what should I do?

She really cannot do much if anything. You are free to quit as you wish--just as she could fire you.
The key will be returned and that will be it. There is really not much else she can do. |
