I am currently being terrorized by a co-worker. The young lady in question is very creative; she does not cause the problems in the work place; she attacks me outside. I had to call the police on her last weekend due to obscene calls; she thought she blocked her number and did not. The calls came on my cell and I also have record. The police were willing to arrest and I chose not to. I thought if I took the high road and showed her mercy it would stop. The young lady then began telling customers that she was doing nothing when I called and tried to have her arrested. I tried to keep it out of the work place until she began involving customers. I had a meeting with her and my employers and informed them about the situation and they informed me that if it kept up we would both be terminated. I am a victim and never did anything to provoke this individual! I know may lose my job! Is this legal? I work for a family owned business and I went to the owners of the company with this problem. What can I do?

If it happened outside of the employment, the employer may not liable. So it will be in the employment law.

I would suggest you do file the police report and let the complaint proceedd
It will bolster your position if she is prosecuted. |
