Former manager calling my job...
My former manager is calling my new job and telling my manager things about me that are not true...This is the second time she has done this. I actually quit about 2 weeks ago and quickly found another job. But I don't know how she finds out where I work, she tracks me down! Is there anything I can do about her calling? I mean, she is messing with my life and my job. I love where I am working at now, mainly because I don't have to deal with her. I have a feeling that if I don't do something about it she will continue to do this.

I wish to inform you that you can give a notice of defamation to other party. In this regard if your previous manager is making false statement then you can claim compensation under defamation. It is necessary that the statement must be false as this will then cause loss of reputation and will make other party liable for defamation.

I would not bother calling this vicious woman and either demanding she quit or whine because she has already harmed you plenty. Neither will accomplish anything. What you need to do is hie yourself immediately to a personal injury lawyer to represent you against her for her defaming you. The lawyer will get the point across as well as decide how far you can go getting redress. If she cost you one job already, the lawyer may be able to put the skids to her picking up the phone again. You are right, though, that if you do nothing she will continue her malicious attempts to ruin you. You need to let her know it will now cost her big time! |
