Confused Could my husband get fired over this?

In the state of Texas, could my husband get fired for taking me to my dr. appointments?

I'm 8 months pregnant with our 3rd child. I have two girls and my husband was there for every appointment. I have four Dr. appointments until my due date plus we just found out last night that the doctor was able was get us in for a sonogram on 8/30 at 9am. I have no other way to the appointments except my husband taking me. We only have one car. His job knows all this. We scheduled my doctors appointments in the afternoons so my husband could go to work for half the day then come and take me to my appointments. I can't go by myself with both the girls. My husband went into work to let them know when the appointments were and he was told that he's not allowed to go because the appointments aren't for him. They most likely won't let him go for the sonogram either. I'm not going down to Galveston by myself with the girls for the sonogram. It seems like the most important thing to them is that my husband is there doing the work of 3 people.

He cannot be fired for his own appointments etc. but that right does not always extend to you. It would be best to try to reach compromise with the employer or have another friend or relative take you.

Family Medical Leave Act includes family members' disability.
However, in your case, if your husband could modify his time
and recover the time cost for your appointment, and it should
be ok. The employer should compromise the employee's
family difficulty, and they should be reasonable.

TEXAS employer does not have to have a reason to terminate an employee. It is best for an employee to have an open discussion with supervisors about what supervisors will tolerate, how much missed work, appointment times, etc. only option is for supervisors to be ok with the situation.

You cannot terminate solely for illness however.
