I have more than one question but this is the main one. I work in a
bank for the last 7.5 years. We work 37.5 hours. I am unclear as to what breaks we are entitled to but can the bank say that a smoker can go outside twice a day for 15 mins and no one else is entitled to that privilege? |

The bank could allow that--odd but they could allow it.
Your state dept of labor can give you the rules as to your own break requirements. |

They really could allow smokers 2.5 hours a week in breaks but not a non smoker? In my department they told us we now have to work 40 hours (the rest of the bank works 37.5). Is it not discrimination for me a non smoker to have to work 5 hours more a week than a smoker?

work hours should be the same; you can get the break but perhaps not outside eg
consult your nearest Department of Labor office too |
