Have My rights been Violated

I was recently let go from a job and the boss that I had, called two of my family members and my ex-husband and told them before she ever contacted me. I found out about the whole situation from one of my family members. I still have not been told anything by this manager. She has also called just about everyone that I know and told them things that just are not true. Have my rights been violated?

If someone publicly says or writes anything factually untrue and it damages you, you indeed can sue for slander, libel, defamation, interference with business relations etc. -- or at least threaten to do so and give a warning.
