My spouse was recently laid off and filed for unemployment insurance benefit in California.
We own rental property. The leases are in my name only. Must he report the rental income? If so, how is that done - As net after expenses, and only for the first week of the month (when rents are due)? thanks |

He does not need to report it if it is not his and it is your sole income. But if he is using the money too he needs to report it. I would get a lawyer's opinion in detail based on your circumstances before you decide.
