PLEASSE HELP!!!!

I received a certified letter today from my former boss. In the letter it states that I need to return some reports that they cannot find. They said that id i did not return them they would turn it over to the audit department as impropriety and they would withhold my final wages. The problem is- I do not have the reports that they are asking for. Why in the world would i take something like that. should i get a lawyer, what should I do. also when I was told in january that my contract was not going to be renewed, they implied it was because i wanted more children. I have found out that the person that they hired is in their 60's. The only other reason i was given was a report that did not get turned in on time. it did not get turned in on time because I was out, having just had a miscarriage. Please help! Can anyone give me some advice,
