(Ohio) Hello, I have recently worked as a non-teaching high school baseball coach (I am in college right now). I was sought out by the varsity coach to coach his JV baseball team (it is in a bad school with no parental or otherwise support). I had no prior connection with this man or this school, and I agreed to it. After about the first two months of practices, I appeared before a group of faculty and administrators and they approved me to coach there. The head coach also had asked me if it were ok if I would split the FRESHMAN TEAM's salary with another assistant of his. I agreed to to this because I was the JV COACH and was getting paid for it so I could certainly afford to split another check to allow him to get paid too. Well the season progessed and I attended every game and practice (like a coach should). I dealt with parent concerns and even had to go into school and beg kids to play so we'd have enough for a team. I did everything. The varisty coach, or any of assistants could not name 3 kids on my team. Well, now it is time to get paid and even though I was told I was the JV AND FRESHMAN COACH and I did all of this work on my own, with no support from the varisty, I was told by the city's school board that I would receive half of the FRESHMAN pay (1200 before taxes for me) and none of the JV money. The varisty assistant, who had nothing to do with my team, is getting the full JV pay (3500). So, I am supposed to be getiing 4700 before taxes and now I am getting 1200. I have spoken to the principal and athletic director and even some people at the shcool board but no one will help me. What do I do??????

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior...
