Default need into

Hello my name is scott reid and i was wondering if you could help me with some information on some of my available options.
Ok well i was recently injured at work (central disk protrusion in my lower back) i worked for Harris Rebar in the steel yard as a crain operator. I worked there for nearly 2 years and never had a problem, then i got injured. There are 2 main concerns for me regarding this injury.
First the day of my injury(march 27/2008) there was no first aid attendant working at that time, i reported my injury to my supervisor and he told me "no no you just pulled a muscle, happens all the time, just pop a couple advil and get back to work". and it was the same the next day ( no first aid) now i heard it is illegal to run a yard without a qualified first aid attendant and was wondering if this was true?As i feel my condition was worsted by the fact i did not receive first aid. You may be wondering why i went back to work the next day if i was in so much pain, well the answered is i was scared to loose my bonus ($2 every hour paid out every 3 months as long as you don't miss any work).
The second concern i have is the fact that they "laid me off" due to my injury. I don't think this is right and i don't think they should be able to do this to people is there anything i can do???

They cannot lay you off or deny you time without some compensation if you were injured at work. Talk to your workers comp staff and your nearest Department of Labor office.
