I am employed in the State of New York. Can my employer require company employees to render hours of unpaid "service"? each year? Can they require participation in charity benefits? Can they require attendance at meetings that are held on days other than regular workdays, with attendance being uncompensated?

No--you need to be paid for that...
You could also consult your nearest Department of Labor office to briefly discuss the issue with them and they may become involved as well. |
