Marina staff bullies renters
I work repairing boats at the local marinas. My customer was told by the folks that operate the marina that I was on a list that the marina keeps and that they can not hire me to work at the marina and that I am a known thief. I have never been accused of any wrong doing any where or any time. They have now said that they are private operation and they can ban anyone they want and set the rules that they want. They want to hold me to a higher standard than other guys doing the same type work at the marina. My my customers have 2 boats at the marina that they pay rent to keep them at the marina. Can the people that operate the marina keep me from working at the marina? Can they make my customer hire from the list they say they have considering they pay rent to be there. My customer does not what to hire a new repair tech because they are happy with my work and I have always repaired their boats. What if any legal options do I or my customers have? The marina stopped my work half way through a project. Now my customer has a half finished project and is not allowed to have me finish the job. This cost me money and it cost my customer as well. Please help what can we do??

[and that I am a known thief. ]
has that ever been proven in court? You could clearly sue for defamation if not. |

If someone publicly says or writes anything factually untrue and it damages you, you indeed can sue for slander, libel, defamation, interference with business relations etc. -- or at least threaten to do so and give a warning.
