The business type is restaurant. The situation is assistant manager making a mistake on the close out of a check paid with a credit card making the payment of that check come up short. Instead of charging credit card again for the amount owed, employer wants to garnish wages of the assistant manager. Is this legal?

No that is not legal normally.
It is a cost of doing business and/or they can ask the card holder to pay. |
