Videoed at work:
(Utah) Can your employer legally video you at work? I work for a municipality.
Myself and a fellow employee were having a casual conversation outside our City offices this morning, when one of the department heads walked past us and we acknowledged her with a hello and she walked in the building. When she went in the building she told our secretary to put us on video, that it looked like we were in deep conversation. Our secretary told us because we are friends with her. she continued to watch us until we both went our separate ways.(Approximately 2 min). This really pisses us off, if she wanted to know what we were talking about she should of just stopped and asked and we would have been glad to tell her. Can she legally video us like this? I fill it is an invasion of privacy. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you |

They unfortunately can video in public areas but not areas where you expect personal privacy--like a lavatory.
