Confused sexual harassment investigation

My husband has been accused of sexual harassment by another employee who he supervised. She quit her job and filed a claim the same day. The reason she gave my husband for quitting was that she needed a job that was 9 to 5, Mon thru Fri. The claim is unfounded and false. The complainant was immediately interviewed and then two employees who work with my husband were interviewed and gave statements that there is no way harassment occurred. One of those employees informed my husband about the investigation (he had no idea because he didn't do anything inappropriate and she never said anything about being uncomfortable with something or gave any indication that she had a problem) and the supervisor conducting the investigation has alluded to throwing out that employee's statement for compromising the investigation. Meanwhile, it has been almost two weeks since the investigation started and my husband's supervisor has still not contacted him to let him tell his side of the story and defend himself. It seems very fishy that they have not even talked to him yet and are considering throwing out the statements that are on his side. There was never any touching or attempts to solicit sex or anything like that. My husband has not been informed of all the accusations because his supervisor will not speak with him about it yet, but nothing inappropriate ever occurred. The only thing his supervisor has told him is that it sounds like he has nothing to worry about, but that was before she said she wasn't worried about getting a written statement from the girl who informed him of the investigation. What legal rights does my husband have and is this investigation even being conducted properly? The investigation is not in the hands of HR yet, it is still in the hands of his supervisor, but is it normal for the investigator to question everyone else and not question the accused? He is afraid that they are waiting for his assistant manager to get back so that they can fire him, but they can't fire him without even questioning him, can they?

Default Re: sexual harassment investigation

They will have to get his side before they act.

It would seem that her complaints may be unjustified and that the firm knows that.
